Suitable for most!

​STICK OR TWIST! Spin x Circuit is one class with lots of options to suit your goals, to suit your ability and to suit how you feel on the day! Maybe your friend loves spinning but you hate it! Maybe you like a strength-based circuit and your mum wants to improve her cardiovascular fitness. No worries! You can now both take part in the same session and work to your own goals!

After a group warm up you can choose to start on the bikes for a 25 minute bike-based workout or on the circuit for a 25 minute strength-based workout. Once we reach the halfway point, you have the choice to stick or twist! Jump off the bikes and onto the circuit or from the circuit to the bikes, or (numbers dependent) stay where you are for a full session circuit or a full session bike-based workout!

Suitable for most!

​We have all heard horror stories of feet falling out of pedals and embarrassing slips. Many of us have seen Bridget Jones! Spin classes at Nexus Fitness are something a little different. They are accessible, challenging but fun! SPIN45 sessions are designed to improve your heart and lung health whilst strengthening the muscles of the lower body. Great music and ambient lighting will be sure to improve your mindset and the group environment means you are supported by likeminded people throughout! 

If you've never sat on a spin bike before come a little earlier to class and we will get you set up! Looking for a quieter class? This session is capped at 10.

Thursday 09:30hrs / ​Friday 17:15hrs

Suitable for most!
Disco Spin is the ultimate mood boosting class. Think 80s, 90s and 00s music. Think lights down low and disco lights on! Think high energy and plenty of encouragement, support and laughs!! Disco Spin classes are our favourite way to bring in the weekend! You control how much resistance to add, making spin classes a great one for most fitness goals! These classes are up to 45 minutes of hard work, but are also great fun! 

Suitable for those with a little experience on a spin bike! We suggest trying STICK OR TWIST! Spin X Circuit  or SPIN45 first! Looking for a class with less 
people? This session is capped at 10.

Friday 19:30hrs - bring in the weekend!

Suitable for all.
Are you interested in using free weights but get bored of the gym environment? Need a little extra guidance to understand what on earth you are doing!? There are so many benefits of strength training! This session focuses on deadlifts, squats, presses and other weight-based movements to develop your skill and boost your confidence! With a smaller cap on numbers than our other sessions, you can enjoy more personalised coach guidance and feedback.

Looking for a quieter session? This one is capped at 9-12 (depending on the session plan).

Designed for women. Great for beginners!

Does this sound like you!? Your tummy wobble is getting you down. Along with your memory, you feel like you’ve lost balance and core strength overnight! Your metabolism? What metabolism!? No matter what your diet is, your body shape doesn’t seem to change!

Strength training is brilliantly effective for women but sadly many often shy away from the free-weights area of the gym or stick to the 12 reps x 3 sets of a light weight! Maybe you can’t help but feel disappointed and frustrated when you see zero results?

We won’t be dropping weights, posing in the mirror or shouting over music. We will be learning specific exercises, perfecting technique and turning the music down for this one!

Are you really using your tummy muscles to perform that sit up? Do you really understand how to engage your core?

This slower paced session focuses on that all important mind-body connection to help you recruit the muscles of your tummy, bum and back... strengthening your entire core! We recommend this class as an excellent addition to any fitness programme - designed for injury prevention, to build strong foundations and to improve everyday movements. This session is particularly well suited to those who like to learn a little more about which muscles are working too!

Suitable for all.
tone. is a well rounded, low impact class that focuses on adding definition to your physique. This session includes some floor work, targeting those core muscles and glutes, weighted exercises to help build muscle and tone your physique and higher repetitions with specifically planned combinations to challenge your cardiovascular fitness! Suitable for all ages and abilities! We particularly recommend this one for those looking for a low impact way of using resistance training to decrease their blood pressure!

​Most of us have heard of HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training. Mostly we associate this type of workout with cardio! HIIT X sessions at the studio have a little strength-based Nexus twist... hence the name!

​These sessions mix short efforts with recovery time in a great cardiovascular AND strength workout. With frequent recovery breaks, experienced exercisers can expect to be pushed to at least 80% effort during their intervals. These short intervals and frequent rest periods also make this session a great one for juniors, new starters and beginners to exercise... allowing you to work at a lower intensity should you wish! This is one whole body workout, aimed to hit your cardiovascular system, burn major calories and target every major muscle group!

Suitable for all!

​In this functional, interval workout, you work your way around stations to perform different exercise combinations before moving on to the next... all completely at your own pace! Exercise combinations are carefully designed to allow you to work towards your own goals - be it strength, cardio or conditioning!

This high energy class is designed to help you improve your core strength, coordination and overall quality of movement - all whilst challenging your cardiovascular system! Think slamballs, battleropes, tyres and bodyweight exercises! This session is best described as a traditional bootcamp meets modern, quality kit!

Tuesday 06:30hrs / Every other Saturday 09:00hrs

Suitable for those with a little experience.

The Battle Circuit encourages you to challenge yourself to complete big compound movements and exciting exercise combinations! These sessions are designed to target every major muscle group and burn major calories using your bodyweight, weights and our take on traditional circuit equipment.

The Battle Circuit takes place in The Gym and with a strict capacity limit of just 14, places fill quickly!! We advise booking well in advance!

This one is suitable for those with a little experience... have a go at Circuits or Tone first!

Suitable for all!
Travel around the gym completing different exercise combinations in this traditional circuit class. Circuits are designed to target every major muscle group, while mixing in strength, cardio and resistance training! You dictate which weights to pick up, how high to jump and how fast to move, making this class suitable for most fitness levels and abilities. Short attention span? Want to improve cardiovascular fitness and work those muscles? Circuits is a great one!

Designed for those with a little experience!

We don't have favourites, but if we did? It would be this one!! Nexus360 is our signature session! Designed to merge aspects from each of our other classes in one session - strength, cardio, functional and core. This is one whole body workout that uses every corner of the studio and gym... and all the equipment!

We transition from a great strength workout to an even better functional workout to our cardio machines for a group cardio session! This is our most varied class, allowing you to push to your own limits! You will be supported throughout the session by your coach and fellow members... and you can expect to leave the studio buzzing from the group atmosphere and team camaraderie!!

How do I book?
Sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. Head to our online booking system or download the 'GOTEAMUP' app. to manage your bookings on the go!


How do I book a class for a junior?
Head over to our user guides for more advice on how to sign up a junior! We aren't a creche, holiday club or 'drop and go' service - we offer mature coaching for sensible young adults, wanting to improve their physical and mental health. Please make sure that all under 16s are accompanied by a participating adult!

Is there anything I need to do before class?
​Please aim to turn up no later than 5 minutes before class, head over to reception to sign in via the tablet on your left. Please wait in our reception area for your coach to call you through! Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first session! 
​
​What do I need to bring to class?

Bring your water bottle and a small towel or rag to mop your sweaty brows! Wear tight fitting bottoms or shorts to make sure that you can move freely. If coming to a spin class, trainers with a firm sole will make your ride more comfortable! Most importantly, bring your sense of humour and enthusiasm!

Nervous first timer?
We are keen to help break down any barriers that prevent you getting started... so, we offer a discrete 'meet and greet' service for those who want that little extra support from a coach or fellow member to get you over the door! All you have to do is message us and let us know!
