AMRAP X.
AMRAP X (As Many Rounds As Possible) sessions allow you to work completely at your own pace and to your own targets! It's as simple as the name suggests. Each station has it's own set of exercises or 'workout' for you to follow... the challenge is to complete as many rounds as you can before the timer runs out! Push yourself as hard as you can in this cardio-based class. It's you versus you making this session suitable for all abilities.

HIIT X.
HIIT X (High Intensity Interval Training) sessions mix short efforts with recovery time in a great cardiovascular AND strength workout. With frequent recovery breaks, experienced exercisers can expect to be pushed to at least 80% effort during their intervals. These short intervals and frequent rest periods also make this session a great one for juniors, new starters and beginners to exercise.

CIRCUITS.
Travel around the gym completing different exercise combinations in this traditional circuit class. CIRCUITS is designed to target every major muscle group, while mixing in strength, cardio and resistance training! You dictate which weights to pick up, how high to jump and how fast to move, making this class suitable for most fitness levels and abilities. Short attention span? Want to improve cardiovascular fitness and work those muscles? This one is a great one!

NEXUS 360.
NEXUS360 is our signature session! Designed to merge aspects from each of our other classes in one session - strength, cardio, functional and core. We transition from a great strength workout to an even better functional and cardio workout. This is our most varied class, allowing you to push to your own limits! You will be supported throughout the session by your coach and fellow members... and you can expect to leave the studio buzzing from the group atmosphere and team camaraderie!!

BOOTCAMP.
This session allows us coaches to get a little creative... changing things up every session! The workout is 45 minutes, broken down into different sections. You might work your way around stations to perform different exercise combinations, you might follow a workout mapped out on our whiteboards or you might even create your own from the options given!

CARDIO BPM
This session is uses cardio equipment, outdoor running and functional exercises to keep your heart rate high and improve your cardiovascular fitness! Made up of small workouts, designed for you to complete at your own pace! You might run for 4 minutes then cycle through 2 or 3 exercises for a set amount of time before moving on to the next workout. During bad weather we stick indoors and during fine weather we add optional outdoor running sections.

Mind-body classes.
YOGA.
YOGA is a wellbeing practice combining body, breath and mind. Classes are designed to compliment any exercise programme by working on your strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga will also help develop the mind - body connection leading to better muscle recruitment and range of movement. This session is a teacher-led, shared practice suitable for all abilities: whether you are new to yoga; an experienced practitioner or looking for a prehab/rehab opportunity - Yoga has something for every BODY.

CORE.
Are you really using your tummy muscles to perform that sit up? Do you really understand how to engage your core? This session reinvents the traditional legs, bums, tums workouts! Core is a slower paced session focuses on that all important mind-body connection to help you recruit the muscles of your tummy, bum and back... strengthening your entire core! We recommend this class as an excellent addition to any fitness programme - designed for injury prevention, to build strong foundations and to improve everyday movements.

SHAPE.
In SHAPE sessions we focus on mind-muscle connection through slow, focused and controlled movements. You will use your own bodyweight and resistance bands to target every major muscle. With a huge emphasis on coach feedback and support, in SHAPE sessions you might find your spot with the whole room performing one or two exercises at the same time or you might move around in small groups. Designed for balance, stability, core strength and flexibility, we recommend this session as a great addition to any exercise programme!

TONE.
TONE includes some floor work, targeting those core muscles and glutes, weighted exercises to help build muscle and tone your physique and higher repetitions with specifically planned combinations to challenge your cardiovascular fitness! Designed for all abilities, suitable for beginners. We particularly recommend this one for those looking for a low impact way of using resistance training to decrease their blood pressure!

spin classes.
SPIN45.
We have all heard horror stories of feet falling out of pedals and embarrassing slips. Many of us have seen Bridget Jones! Spin classes at Nexus Fitness are something a little different. SPIN45 sessions are designed to improve your heart and lung health whilst strengthening the muscles of the lower body. Great music and ambient lighting will be sure to improve your mindset and the group environment means you are supported by likeminded people throughout.

DISCO SPIN.
DISCO SPIN is the ultimate mood boosting class. Think 80s, 90s and 00s music. Think lights down low and disco lights on! Think high energy and plenty of encouragement, support and laughs!! Disco Spin classes are our favourite way to bring in the weekend! You control how much resistance to add, making spin classes a great one for most fitness goals! These classes are up to 45 minutes of hard work, but are also great fun! Suitable for those with a little experience on a spin bike!

STICK OR TWIST
A double circuit? A double spin? A 30/30 workout? It's up to you! STICK OR TWIST is one well-rounded class with lots of options to suit your goals, to suit your ability and to suit how you feel on the day! You can choose to start on the bikes for a bike-based workout or on the circuit for a strength-based workout. Once we reach the halfway point, you have the choice to stick or twist!

sTRENGTH classes.
WEIGHTS.
Are you interested in using free-weights but get bored of the gym environment? Need a little extra guidance to understand what on earth you are doing!? Strength training is brilliantly effective but sadly many often shy away from the free-weights area of the gym. During WEIGHTS we focus on deadlifts, squats, presses and other weight-based movements to develop your skill and boost your confidence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
How do I book?
Sessions must be booked and paid for in advance. Head to the SIGN UP/IN page of this website or download the 'TEAMNEXUS' app. to manage your bookings on the go! How do I book a class for a junior? Head over to our user guides for more advice on how to sign up a junior! We aren't a creche, holiday club or 'drop and go' service - we offer mature coaching for sensible young adults, wanting to improve their physical and mental health. Please make sure that all under 16s are accompanied by a participating adult! Is there anything I need to do before class? Please aim to turn up no later than 5 minutes before class, head over to reception to sign in via the tablet on your left. Please wait in our reception area for your coach to call you through! Aim to arrive 10 minutes early for your first session so that your coach can show you the ropes. What do I need to bring to class? Bring your water bottle and a small towel or rag to mop your sweaty brows! Wear tight fitting bottoms or shorts to make sure that you can move freely. If coming to a spin class, trainers with a firm sole will make your ride more comfortable! Most importantly, bring your sense of humour and enthusiasm! Please do not bring food or drink (other than water) into the studio. Nervous first timers? We are keen to help break down any barriers that prevent you getting started... so, we offer a discrete 'meet and greet' service for those who want that little extra support from a coach or fellow member to get you over the door!
