We can't take away your worries and preconceived ideas about 'the gym'. Us coaches have those ideas too. In fact, we designed Nexus Fitness to be different because we felt exactly the same as you! What we can do is give you a promise. We promise that Nexus Fitness will be a million miles away from any preconceived ideas you have about the world of fitness and this NEW INTRODUCTION TO FITNESS programme will only accept people just like you.

INDIVIDUAL MEET AND GREET
We are keen for you to see the studio, feel the vibe and chat to us about your goals before you come to your first session. So, we start things off with a 'no sports kit required' 20 minute drop in. This is your chance to ask as many questions as you wish, to see the space that will be yours for the next 4 weeks and to familiarise yourself with any booking system or signing in process.

BEGINNER'S ONLY FITNESS CLASSES
Every Monday 6pm the group will take part in a group fitness class. This session is designed solely for those on this course... so, you're all in the same boat! Every session we will try a new style of fitness From circuits to spin, yoga to strength, every session is designed to coach you through the basics. It's our mission to debunk any preconceived ideas you might have. After these sessions you will feel confident with different types of equipment and know exactly which style of fitness you prefer!

OPEN GYM ACCESS
Our Private Gym has a capacity of just 3. Members book themselves in (as you would a class) and spend 45 minutes - 1 hour working on their own professionally designed programme. Our space is intimate and homely... lots of our members call it their Happy Place! We are proud of our meticulously high standards in both upkeep and cleanliness. No more stale air or sweaty bodies! Just you, your workout and your time. You'll have access to the gym throughout the next 4 weeks.

4 WEEK GYM-BASED PROGRAMME
From day one you'll have access to your own beginners gym programme. You can follow this whenever you're in the gym. This programme is uploaded to your user area, with images, descriptions and videos to help guide you through. A coach is always at the studio to offer help and advice... we are here for you every step of the way! But, this programme also aims to give you the confidence to tackle your workout independently too.

WEEKLY CHECK INS
We aren't a gym here, we are a community. Us coaches invest in you just as much as we want you to invest in yourself! We will keep you accountable (without being like that pesky sales person in a furniture shop) and we will check in regularly to help keep you on track. Nutrition advice? Exercise support? A good old natter? We are here.

Nexus Fitness is a small, family owned business with a close-knit coaching team. We've known each other for well over a decade and share the same values and beliefs about the world of fitness. We welcome every member like an old friend and enjoy sharing our love of health and fitness.
katy walwyn Hello, I'm Katy - founder of Nexus Fitness and coach at the studio. My interest in fitness grew after I took up running as an overweight teenager! I have worked in the leisure industry for the last decade and more recently graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with a Masters Degree in Sports Business Management.
I know from my own experiences that the fitness industry isn't the most accessible, inviting or appealing! So, my vision is to create a friendly environment that welcomes and supports everyone to achieve their goals, reach their aspirations and to make sure that every person walks away from the studio with a smile on their face... every. single. time. |
lucy bellHi there I’m Lucy, I am a mum of 2 sport loving kids. love most sports but my passion being Netball where as a youngster I played at club, county, regional level and was selected to represent England at U18’s.
I have worked in and around fitness for 25yrs (I really am that old!). Along the way I have learnt so much and appreciate all forms of health and fitness. Exercise should be accessible to everyone, you just have to find something you enjoy and instructors you gel with. Instructing fitness and personal training is my happy place, I love welcoming new people into my classes and those that already attend either classes or Personal Training become my friends. I love working as part of the Nexus Team who I have had the pleasure to work with for many years, we all share the same morals and values regarding health and fitness and doing our best for you lovely lot! |
sarah cartwrightMy name is Sarah and I am a personal trainer / group exercise instructor at the studio. I am also an on-call firefighter and Associate Fitness Trainer for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. I have worked in the leisure industry for nearly 30 years!! How old!?
I believe that exercise should be fun and social... it should be enjoyed! I take spin and fitness classes here at the studio and lead some of our running sessions. Whether you join my classes for physical improvements or for your mental health, I aim to make sure that everyone walks out of the door feeling tired from a great workout, but on a high from the atmosphere! |
katy eardleyNamaste, my name is Katy. I have been a student of Yoga for over 10 years and have recently started to pursue a Yoga Diploma and Young Yoga qualification. My background is in education and I’ve spent most of my career teaching in schools before moving into higher education. I am passionate about Yoga and its potential to improve our physical fitness and mental well-being, with a particular interest in advocating for the health and wellness of women and girls.
I strive to create a welcoming and supportive space where participants can listen to their bodies and move at their own pace. I believe Yoga offers something for everyone, and that practitioners often discover unexpected benefits beyond their initial goals. |
